In 1825 Henry Hellyer became one of the first European Explorers to set foot into the harsh & ferocious wilderness of North West Tasmania in his role as Chief Surveyor with the Van Diemen’s Land Company.
Almost two hundred years later his road now guides the way to the Hellyers Road Distillery.
It is there that premium quality Tasmanian grain is patiently combined with some of the world’s purest drinking water, delivered on the winds of the Roaring Forties from which this single malt variety derives its name. It is then two and a half times distilled and aged in individually selected American white oak, char fired casks.
With all vatting & marrying done in timber casks and non-chill filtered, this superb whisky shares the same vision, determination and perseverance of Henry Hellyer, while embodying the purity and grandeur of Tasmania’s pristine North West Region.
This non-chill filtered whisky delivers a superb full-bodied and flavoursome result.
