Hibiki 12 year old

Hibiki 12 year old“HIBIKI” to the Japanese represents harmony and so the name symbolises this unique marriage of malts and harmonious blend from Japan. The sweet floral aroma of the hand-selected matured malts combines with a natural wood essence to create a truly distinctive whisky with a full-bodied taste.

The 24 faces of the bottle symbolise the ancient tradition of  “Sekki”, the age-old Japanese calendar and followed for centuries, it represents the 24 seasons. Front labeling is made from the hand-crafted Japanese paper, “Washi”.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Golden amber

Nose: Pineapples, raspberries, plums, honey

Palate: Soft, fruity, gently tantalising taste

Finish: Lingering sweetness, light sour, spicy

Offered first in Europe, the hone of the fine whisky, Hibiki 12 year old won high praise for its complex flavours and delicate taste, surprising people that it was only a 12 year old whisky. It blends carefully chosen malts aged 12 years and older with a selection of mellow grains. This sweet splendour of the aromas and flavours are underlined by the use of malt aged in plum brandy barrels. Blending this with malt that has been slowly aged for more than 30 years results in a deeply mature taste.
