That Boutique-y Whisky Company was founded to bring forgotten drams from some of the world’s best distilleries to the whisk-craving masses. Often taken from miniscule parcels of forgotten stock/last casks, none of our bottle carry an age-statement.
Our limited edition labels are hand-illustrated and designed with a nod towards whimsicality, often incorporating whisky industry “in jokes”. This bottle of Arran:
The label features two kayakers shipwrecked on a desert island – only this desert island must be somewhere between Glasgow and the Isle of Arran because the Waverley cruise ship is going past! One of the nesting eagles that held up construction of the Arran distillery is also featured whilst the artist responsible for That Boutique-y Whisky Company’s comic book-style labels, Emily Chappell, is in fact one of the shipwrecked persons with this illustration being (loosely) based on a true story!
This single malt Scotch whisky is a blend of casks from a single distillery (Arran).
Nose: Wood spices, sea air, malt and warm citrus notes all play a part in this buttery nose.
Palate: Mixed peels, chopped pineapple, vanilla custard, Ovaltine and dark chocolate.
Finish: Fruity and long with cocoa on the tail.
Overall: A malty Arran with creaminess throughout.
This is Batch 2, with a release of 459 numbered bottles (bottle 396).
